Lawn Fertilizer
Our main lawn fertilizer program is a liquid slow-release weed & feed. This is blended with vital nutrients, including Iron your lawn needs to maintain good health and weed control. As an option, we also offer a slow-release polymer-coated pellet fertilizer, which includes iron. With pellet application, weed spraying is done separately.
Deep Root Fertilizer
This is a special formulation to provide trees and shrubs with vital nutrients to maintain a healthy vigor. This keeps your trees looking greener and reduces the adverse effects of disease and insect damage. Application is done in the early spring and late fall. Note: With some applications to trees in lawn areas, there may be some extra growth and greening around injection holes. This generally only lasts a short time.
Lawn Grub and Disease Control
Your lawn may be affected by grubs, sod webworms, billbugs and other numerous insects. We offer a pre-treatment for grubs in the spring and post-treatment throughout the summer season. Eastern Idaho lawns are susceptible to many diseases such as necrotic ring spot, ferry ring, dollar spot, and others. Although these can be difficult to control we offer fungicide applications for suppression of diseases and consultation for good cultural control management.
Non-Selective Grass and Weed Spray
Roundup Spraying
These applications include round-up or pre-emergent for total vegetation control.
Round-up is a contact herbicide that is a non-selective herbicide used to kill established weeds and grass. Roundup will not stop new plants from germinating. Normally, we recommend monthly inspections and touch-up applications to control the new weeds that germinate after our initial application.
Pre-emergent Weed Control
This application helps to control the germination of weeds and grasses. Pre-emergent can be applied around established trees and shrubs. Pre-emergent must be applied prior to weed germination, usually in the fall or early spring.
Ground Sterilant
Bare ground weed control is one of our most sought-after services. Though not labeled for residential application, this service provides outstanding weed control for commercial and industrial sites, right of way, ag, and many other non-residential sites.
Pasture Broadleaf Weed Control
Different than lawns, pastures are subject to much higher pressure from weeds. Usually, pastures are watered from canals or ditches which carry thousands of weeds. With the addition of weed seeds blown around in the wind, it is no surprise that pastures require a good management program to maintain good control. Some herbicides we use will allow you to keep horses and livestock on the pasture after application. Some restrictions do apply. Listed here are a few of the most common weeds: dandelion, tansy, thistle, plantain, and field bindweed.

Micro Tree Injection & Soil Drench
It is not uncommon during our yard and tree inspections to find evidence of bores, scale, canker, fire blight, or other diseases. Spray applications may be helpful but, at times, not as effective as direct injection or soil drenching. Our Micro tree injection system allows us to inject directly into the tree, and this has many added benefits. Using a systemic injection is highly effective for controlling boring insects or diseases. This method ensures that the product is translocated within the tree, directly targeting and effectively addressing the pest. With this application, we have a wide range of products available to control insects and diseases.
Soil drenching is another application method. Like our Micro tree injection, soil drench application also provides many specific benefits. Scale is a huge problem in Eastern Idaho as well as aphids. Soil drenching trees infected with these pests is a very effective pest management tool. Here are a few trees we treat with Microinjection and/or soil drench: Ash, Maple, Birch, Aspen, Locust, Poplar, and more. Most of our customers will have one or more of these trees in their yard.

Pond Algae and Weed Control
Algae control in ponds is a very important part of maintaining a healthy pond.
Algae forms in a pond when sunlight reacts with nutrients in the water. These nutrients are comprised primarily of ammonia and nitrate, which you may recognize as the ingredients in fertilizer. These nutrients result from the breakdown of debris such as leaves, grass, and other windblown organic matter. As these items decompose, the nutrients become the food for algae in many forms, including Filamentous Algae that covers rocks and clings to the surface of your pond.
As your pond matures, the more likely you will have to deal with aquatic pond weeds. Some weeds are submerged weeds, such as naiad or American pond weed, to emergent weeds, such as cattails. Pest Control Services, Inc has the right treatment plan to keep your pond algae-free and weed-free. If you want to bring your pond back to being a striking piece of your landscape, call us today!
